Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using StropManne's car rental services ("Services"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Definitions

  • "Company" refers to StropManne Car Rental Pte Ltd
  • "Renter" refers to the person or entity renting the vehicle
  • "Vehicle" refers to any motor vehicle rented from the Company
  • "Rental Period" refers to the agreed duration of the rental
  • "Rental Agreement" refers to the specific contract for each rental

3. Eligibility Requirements

3.1 Age Requirements

  • Minimum age: 21 years old
  • Drivers aged 21-25 may be subject to additional fees and restrictions
  • Maximum age: 75 years old

3.2 License Requirements

  • Valid driver's license from country of residence
  • International Driving Permit (IDP) for foreign visitors
  • License must be held for at least 2 years
  • No major violations or suspensions in the past 3 years

3.3 Additional Requirements

  • Valid credit card in the renter's name
  • Proof of identity (passport or national ID)
  • Proof of address if requested

4. Rental Terms and Conditions

4.1 Reservation and Booking

  • Reservations are subject to vehicle availability
  • Confirmation required within 24 hours of booking
  • Company reserves the right to substitute vehicles of similar class
  • Special requests cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Payment is due at the time of vehicle pickup
  • A security deposit is required via credit card authorization
  • Additional charges may apply for extra services or violations
  • All prices are in Singapore Dollars and include applicable taxes

4.3 Vehicle Pickup and Return

  • Vehicles must be picked up and returned during business hours unless arranged otherwise
  • Late returns are subject to additional daily charges
  • Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as provided
  • Thorough inspection will be conducted at pickup and return

5. Use of Vehicle

5.1 Authorized Use

The vehicle may only be used for:

  • Legal passenger transportation
  • Personal or business use within Singapore
  • Driving on paved roads and designated areas

5.2 Prohibited Use

The vehicle may NOT be used for:

  • Commercial delivery or courier services
  • Racing, competitions, or driving instruction
  • Transportation of illegal substances or contraband
  • Off-road driving or beach driving
  • Transportation of pets without prior approval
  • Smoking in the vehicle
  • Transportation outside of Singapore without written permission

6. Driver Responsibilities

6.1 Legal Compliance

  • Comply with all Singapore traffic laws and regulations
  • Pay all fines, tolls, and parking fees during rental period
  • Report any accidents or incidents immediately
  • Maintain valid insurance coverage

6.2 Vehicle Care

  • Operate the vehicle safely and responsibly
  • Perform basic maintenance checks (oil, tire pressure)
  • Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition
  • Secure the vehicle when parked

7. Insurance and Liability

7.1 Included Coverage

  • Third-party liability insurance (minimum S$1 million)
  • Collision Damage Waiver with deductible
  • Fire and theft protection
  • 24/7 roadside assistance

7.2 Renter Liability

The renter is responsible for:

  • Deductible amounts as specified in the rental agreement
  • Damage not covered by insurance
  • Loss of use fees during repair periods
  • Administrative fees for processing claims

8. Cancellation and Modifications

8.1 Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation: 24 hours before pickup time
  • 50% charge: 12-24 hours before pickup
  • Full charge: Less than 12 hours or no-show
  • Peak season bookings may have different terms

8.2 Modifications

  • Subject to availability and rate changes
  • Must be requested at least 24 hours in advance
  • Modifications may incur additional fees

9. Additional Fees and Charges

9.1 Optional Services

  • Additional driver: S$15 per day
  • GPS navigation: S$8 per day
  • Child safety seat: S$10 per day
  • Delivery/collection service: S$30-50 depending on location

9.2 Violation Fees

  • Late return: S$50 plus additional daily rate
  • Smoking in vehicle: S$200 cleaning fee
  • Lost key replacement: S$150-300
  • Fuel refill service: Market rate plus S$30 service fee
  • Traffic violation processing: S$50 administrative fee

10. Accidents and Emergencies

10.1 Immediate Actions

In case of accident or emergency:

  1. Ensure safety and call emergency services if needed (995)
  2. Contact Singapore Police (999) for all accidents
  3. Notify StropManne within 2 hours (+65 6123 4567)
  4. Document the scene with photos and witness information
  5. Do not admit fault or make statements to other parties

10.2 Reporting Requirements

  • Complete accident report form
  • Provide police report number
  • Submit all relevant documentation within 48 hours
  • Cooperate with insurance investigation

11. Limitation of Liability

StropManne's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. We are not responsible for:

  • Personal injury or property damage not covered by insurance
  • Loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle
  • Consequential or indirect damages
  • Delays or inconvenience due to vehicle breakdown
  • Third-party claims exceeding insurance coverage

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We may share information with:

  • Insurance companies for claims processing
  • Law enforcement when legally required
  • Service providers for operational purposes
  • Credit agencies for payment verification

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These terms are governed by Singapore law and subject to the jurisdiction of Singapore courts.

13.2 Dispute Process

  1. Contact customer service for initial resolution
  2. Escalate to management if unresolved
  3. Mediation through agreed third party
  4. Legal proceedings as last resort

14. Modifications to Terms

StropManne reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be:

  • Posted on our website with updated date
  • Effective immediately for new bookings
  • Communicated to existing customers via email
  • Subject to Singapore consumer protection laws
